Dyeing Yarn with Kool-Aid on the Stove; From Start to Finish

In partnership with http://AllFreeKnitting.com and http://www.chemknits.com I am pleased to present this video about how to dye yarn with Kool-Aid in the comfort of your own kitchen. This video will take you from start to finish, from tieing you skein of 100% wool yarn, to heating the dye bath, “cooking” the yarn, and then finally cleaning the brilliantly colored yarn. It is possible to dye wool/acrylic blends with this method, but you need to have some animal fibers for the color to take. The method illustrated in this video is pot dyeing, a way to get a single color out of your hand dyed yarn. 1 Packet of Fruit Punch KoolAid was used in this dyebath.
