How to Dye Yarn with Long Color Gradients – Dip Dyeing a Knit Blank

There are many different ways to hand dye long gradients of color. You can wrap the yarn into multiple miniskeins and dye each of those individually or you can start with a pre-knit blank. The blank used in this tutorial was created with a cheap hand crank knitting machine, but you can also find sock blanks for purchase on a variety of knitting sites. When you are ready to knit with your long gradient of color, unwind directly from the blank as you knit!
